Accommodation

Pumula Retreat boasts plenty of living space which all benefit from lots of sunlight thanks to the large windows. The bedrooms are spacious with ample cupboard space and have magnificent valley and sea views. The large and luminous lounge offers space for one to relax, unwind, read books or play one of the music instruments. You are sure to love the classic, and sometimes retro, decor of our sturdy house. The upstairs area has a covered balcony overlooking the valley, sea views and a large back terrace to enjoy the afternoon sun. Relax by the pool in one of the sun lounger or snooze in the hammocks under the trees.

Our accommodation is able to welcome up to 18 guests, (10 guests in the main house, 6 guests in the cottage and 2 in the jungle apartment). Most of the beds have the option to be converted into king size beds or single beds. All our rooms have a kettle with tea, filtered water, ceiling fans, organic soap and fresh towels.

The nearby Umzumbe and Pumula beaches are beautiful and untouched and the Umzumbe beach is a blue flag beach. Near Umzumbe beach, Stiebel Rocks beach provides a sheltered corner allowing for easy swimming.

MAHOGANY En-Suite Room

The Mahogany bedroom offers breath taking valley and sea view. Sleep in a comfy king size bed OR in a single bed and wake up watching the sunrise over the ocean from your pillow. The room is very spacious, it has a couch, lots of cupboards space and plenty of sunlight thanks to the large windows. The room is an ensuite with a large shower and a bath tub.

Loerie En-Suite Room

The En-suite Loerie bedroom makes you feel as though you are sleeping amongst the tree tops. Sleep in a comfy king size bed OR in a single bed and wake up watching the monkeys climbing the trees. The room is very spacious, has lots of cupboard space and plenty of sunlight thanks to the large window. The bright and large en-suite bathroom has a shower and a big corner bath.

Sunrise room

The Sunrise bedroom offers breath taking valley and sea view. Sleep in a comfy king size bed OR in a single bed , and wake up watching the sunrise over the ocean from your pillow. The room is very spacious, it has lots of cupboards space and plenty of sunlight thanks to the large windows. The room has access to its own private bathroom with a large shower and a bath tub down the corridor.

hyrax room

The Hyrax is the smallest of our bedrooms overlooking the forest and the back terrace. It accommodates two single beds with a cupboard and shares a bathroom with a shower downstairs.

jungle apartment

This space is dedicated to our retreats instructors, it gives you an en-suite bedroom with a self-catering lounge nestled in the jungle of Pumula.

The Cottage

The large cottage has three bedrooms, a living room, a self catering kitchen and a patio.

It can accommodate up to six people in three bedrooms: the Hornbill has two single beds, the Bushbuck has a king size bed, these two bedrooms share one bathroom. The third bedroom is the beautifully large ensuite Mdoni, two single beds or one king sized bed options.
