Retreat Accommodation

The Pumula Retreat Guest House boasts plenty of living space which all benefit from lots of sunlight thanks to the large windows. All bedrooms are spacious with ample cupboard space and have magnificent valley and sea views. The large and luminous lounge offers space for one to relax, unwind, read books or play one of the instruments. You are sure to love the classic, and sometimes retro, decor of our sturdy house. The upstairs area has a covered balcony overlooking the valley, sea views and a large back terrace to enjoy the afternoon sun. Each room is unique with a combination of nature and yoga design.

Nutrition & Goodness

Each retreat includes healthy, vegetarian (or other preferred diet), and delicious food. Our garden is packed with avocados almost year-round, lemon and lime trees, and we source all we can locally.

MEET OUR CHEF - KRISTIN MACKENZIE

"The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.” - Ann Wigmore

Kristin is passionate about creating delicious nutritious food. She has been a vegetarian since childhood and became a vegan as a teenager. These were lifestyle choices made from a deep sense of connection with animals and a desire to live more gently on the Earth.

As a young woman, she experienced a health crisis that put her on the path of nutritional healing. She became an apprentice on an organic farm where she learned to grow and prepare food and has been living a "garden to table" lifestyle ever since.

She came to South Africa from Canada in 1995 and she, her husband and their 2  free-range children have a small organic farm where they grow a variety of fruits, nuts, and vegetables. She offers plant-based cooking workshops and catering to individuals and yoga retreats. When she is not in the garden or the kitchen she loves to practice yoga, Reiki and 5 Rhythms.

Lokah samasta sukhino bhavantu

May all beings everywhere be happy and free and may the thoughts, words and actions of my own life  contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.
